Bali has undoubtedly become a popular tourist spot, be it for honeymooners, solo travellers, adventure seekers or luxury travellers. This is owing to the plethora of stay options available in the most remote areas of the island as well.
While your Instagram must be flooded by the fancy cliff-hanging bamboo villas that may cost you a kidney or two, luxury in our opinion has been cheapest on this Island.
Here’s a list of budget friendly luxury stays that we selected for our 15-day trip, across Bali.
1. BUANA VILLA BALI
Instead of booking a place in Kuta, these beautiful private pool villas in Jimbaran are absolutely the definition of luxury. Each villas has a private pool, an open living room, an open fully equipped kitchen, a cozy bedroom and a luxurious bathroom with a bath tub. You will definitely not want to get out once you check in.

2. BREEZY VOLCANO
Ever imagined staying in glass cottages on the slopes of an active volcano overlooking a massive lake? Well, this stay is exactly that! Nestled in the middle of nowhere, this stay in Kintamani offers cottages with huge glass facades. The rooms are very well designed, with your own little veranda and lawn on the front. The sunrise from this cottage was spectacular and as the name suggests, it was the only place in Bali where we wished we had carried our jackets!

3. AQUA TERRACE
What if we told you that you could get all the Santorini vibes at this stay in Amed and not even drill a hole in your pockets? That’s right! Overlooking the endless blue ocean beyond the swimming pool, the rooms are so chic. The room being spacious, houses a comfy bed, a dresser area, toilet and a fancy shower, all overlooking the ocean. And if that’s not enough, there’s also a big deck providing direct access to the pool overlooking the ocean! We bet you are going to be chilling in the balcony way more than you would think! They also have an ocean facing restaurant and spa, both very well designed.

4. NIRWANA BEACH RESORT
This is an amazing property right on the Beach in Candidasa and definitely one of our favourites! With different categories of rooms, you have so many options to choose from depending on your requirements and budget. The cottages have a pretty outdoor seating, royalty-like bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms with bath tubs. The huge infinity pool overlooking the beach makes for a perfect plan to unwind. You will enjoy the waves gushing against the resort wall while having a meal at the open-air restaurant.

5. BALI TROPIC
Nusa Dua has literally become a synonym to luxury properties in recent times and this beautiful beach resort offers exactly that. From the detailed designing to the room interiors to the mere vastness of the property, you will definitely feel pampered. The rooms have a traditional vibe and come with a beautiful balcony seating at the entry, a royal bed, and a fancy bathroom with a bathtub. Not only that, the property has a huge swimming pool, a spa, and 3 restaurants, one of which has open beach seating for your romantic candle light dinners!
6. SAMUH OCEAN SUNSET
Choosing a stay in Nusa Penida may be daunting owing to the unavailability of very luxurious properties and the excessive availability of budget ones. This hotel literally projects out of a cliff overlooking the ocean, with Mt. Agung as backdrop. The rooms aren’t that luxurious in terms of design but are big and very comfortable. The highlight of this property is the hugeness of the balcony in each room. They have a restaurant, a bar and a swimming pool all facing the ocean.

7. YAN YAN RESORT
This peaceful forest resort in Ubud was our personal favourite. It is located away from the bustling main Ubud and yet so well connected and accessible. The rooms are pool and forest facing and also have a little sit-out to chill while listening to the sounds of nature. They are well equipped with luxurious bathroom with a bath tub. The restaurant is a beautiful area to spend the evening at and the staff is the most polite that we have come across.

8. WESTIN
Even though the prices for this property in Nusa Dua start at INR 15000/night, you can try getting a membership and you may bag an unbelievable deal. It is a 5 star beach property with luxurious rooms, 3 swimming pools, spa and 3 restaurants, one of which is also Indian. They also have a beach dinner set up which is great for your romantic special dinners.
When in Bali, luxury is not necessarily expensive. So make sure to check off all your fancy vacation dreams!
